Policy Platform

Real action for our future

I will work across all levels of government, with industry and community services, to ensure policy is driven by what people need—and what the planet can sustain. Collaboration, not conflict, is how we get results that last.

This platform is built on conversations with the community, and a commitment to real action.

Stressed Man

Cost of living

Cost of living pressures are biting hard—while short term relief is important, I am focused on real, long-term solutions that embed a reduction of living costs over a longer term, rather than treating the current situation as a temporary phase.

Across every part of this policy platform are actions that fix the systems that are failing us and help build a fairer, more resilient future

Key advocacy points:

  • Energy and Housing: Upgrading homes for energy efficiency cuts power bills for renters and owners. Prioritising social and affordable housing and supporting community and co-operative housing provides more secure options for people being priced out of the market.

  • Health and Community Services: Investing in community health, mental health, and support services means families spend less on essential care and avoid costly crises.

  • Transport and Planning: Investing in active and public transport options reduces the need for expensive car trips, and smarter planning keeps people connected to work, school, and services.

  • Climate and Nature: A clean energy transition—done right—creates new jobs, cuts fossil fuel dependence, and protects people from the rising insurance and disaster recovery costs linked to climate impacts.

  • Integrity and Social Justice: Transparent, accountable government ensures public money goes where it’s needed—not wasted on pork-barrelling, spin or rorts.

My approach is about changing the rules so that everyday people can get ahead—and building a future where dignity, stability and opportunity aren’t out of reach

Climate action and resilience

Climate change isn’t a future threat—it’s a current reality. From worsening heatwaves, floods and fires to rising insurance costs and insecure energy systems, our communities are already feeling the impacts. But, Australia is making significant strides in renewable energy, and has everything to gain by positioning itself as a potential global leader in the sector.

I am committed to bold, practical climate leadership that reduces emissions, supports families and businesses to adapt, and positions Australia as a regional leader in a clean energy future.

Key advocacy points:

  • Stronger national emission reduction targets (60–70% by 2035)

  • Hosting COP31 in partnership with Pacific nations

  • Restoring independence to the Climate Change Authority

  • Solar, battery and EV as active part of the energy system (discharge to homes)

  • Product stewardship schemes for solar panels and batteries

  • Climate-resilient planning across all levels of government

  • Community-centred adaptation and emergency resilience

Specific actions:

  • Legislate stronger 2035 emissions targets

  • Advocate for COP31 to be held in Australia

  • Progress policy that enables EV batteries as part of a household solution

  • Advocate for EV and solar battery stewardship and recycling schemes

  • Reform energy efficiency incentives to support household upgrades

  • Champion council-led community climate resilience projects

Natural environment

I will champion stronger protections for ecosystems, the regeneration of degraded landscapes, and a modern, science-backed environmental framework that recognises nature’s essential role in our society and economy.

Australia will benefit from clear, consistent, and meaningful guidelines—so we protect what sustains us, while allowing businesses to plan, invest, and innovate with confidence.

A thriving economy and a healthy environment are not in opposition. We can—and must—do both

Key advocacy points:

  • Support the Nature Positive Bill to enhance environmental governance

  • Advance a national plan for plastic recycling, especially soft plastics

  • Restore and care for urban bushland and tree canopy

  • Promote regenerative agriculture and land care practices

Specific actions:

  • Push for timely passage of the Nature Positive (Environment Protection Australia) Bill

  • Advocate for national soft plastics recycling rollout

  • Fund community-driven urban greening and bushland restoration

  • Support regenerative agriculture pilot programs and education

Integrity and trust

Our democracy only works when people believe in it. But that trust is being undermined by misinformation, secrecy, political spin and a lack of integrity.

I am fighting for a more honest, transparent and accountable democracy where institutions are independent, truth matters, and the public interest comes first.

We must regulate the independent and non-partisan governance of the ABC to ensure it remains a trusted source of information, free from political interference.

Key advocacy points:

  • Truth in political advertising laws

  • Protection and empowerment of whistleblowers

  • Stronger oversight via NACC, ACCC and ACMA

  • Independent, publicly funded, ad-free media that is freely accessible

Specific actions:

  • Legislate truth-in-advertising rules for political campaigns

  • Support the Whistleblower Protection Authority Bill 2025

  • Expand ACMA powers to include political advertising regulation

  • Enshrine ABC and SBS independence and ensure sustainable funding

Suburban Homes

Affordable, efficient and accessible housing

Housing is the foundation of a good life and a basic human right. Now is the time to ask: what do we want our housing to look like 20 years from now? Homes that are affordable, energy-efficient, accessible, and connected to thriving communities. By planning for that future now—with good policy, smart investment, and collaboration across all levels of government—we can make it a reality.

I support diverse, people-first housing solutions that lower energy bills, protect renters, and ensure everyone has a safe place to call home. That means putting the right type of housing in the right places, working in genuine partnership with local councils and state governments to plan well, strengthen communities, support small business—and make sure services and amenities grow with us.

Key advocacy points:

  • Champion community-led and cooperative housing models

  • Improve energy standards for homes to cut costs and emissions

  • Strengthen renter protections and transparency in the market

  • Consult communities and local council for the right homes in the right places

Specific actions:

  • Advocate for better national minimum rental standards

  • Push for energy efficiency upgrades in social and private rentals

  • Support co-operative approaches to rent and land trust housing trials

  • Stronger consultation to ensure fit-for-purpose housing developments

  • Establish a Community Coordination Panel to make sure locals impacted by major projects are protected, consulted, and properly compensated

Strong communities

Strong communities don’t happen by accident—they’re built through care, connection and smart investment in the things that bring people together.

I am working to ensure everyone can access health, education, and support systems that promote wellbeing, equality and resilience

Key advocacy points:

  • Accessible, affordable health, mental health and allied services

  • NDIS reform based on user consultation

  • Inclusive, equitable education for all

  • Protect communities from predatory digital and gambling industries

  • Active transport, connected service and genuine community spaces that reduce isolation and enhance community well being and resilience

Specific actions:

  • Support community access to health and community legal services and foster partnership arrangements such as with the Park Orchards Community House, Maternal Child Health, Mabel and ECLC services

  • Revise NDIS from a user perspective, ensuring equity and dignity of this essential service

  • Tackle addictive design and gambling style elements in digital platforms and games aimed at children

  • Support the ban on sports betting ads during live broadcasts and online games

Social justice

Australia’s commitment to fairness, inclusion, and the rule of law should be reflected in how we treat people at home and in how we show up globally.

I am committed to rebuilding systems that deliver justice—supporting vulnerable communities, upholding international human rights obligations, and ensuring that government processes are timely, transparent, and accountable. Social justice is fundamental to a healthy democracy and a fair society.

Key advocacy points:

  • Support appropriate structuring and resourcing of the immigration department

  • Strengthen community driven programs that support community wellbeing

  • Champion peacemaking and global stability

  • Recognise the need for preventative initiatives that reduce poverty, housing stress, and systemic inequality

Specific actions:

  • Support an end indefinite detention and implement timely, humane visa processing and rights

  • Rebuild and resource Australia’s immigration department to improve visa systems and settlement services.

  • Review Asylum seeker rights
